Our Story

Hello and welcome!

We’re a family of three who took a big step and changed our life in Ukraine for the beautiful shores of Portugal a couple of years ago. Since then, we’ve been discovering every hidden part of this lovely country, and we’re excited to share our discoveries with you.

I am Kostya,

but most people call me Kos. During the day, I work as a QA engineer, and in the evenings, I enjoy playing the drums. When I’m not working or jamming on my drum kit, I love to discover the secret spots of Portugal.

Traveling has always been a deep passion for me. It’s not just about seeing new places—it’s a way to expand my horizons and discover more about myself. Each trip helps me grow, offering a chance to learn not only about the world but also about my own inner journey. The more you explore, the more you know yourself and the world.

My wife Victoria,

a talented UI/UX designer, brings a creative, spontaneous energy to our trips. While I love to plan every detail, she prefers to go with the flow, finding hidden spots to enjoy a good view or simply observe the local scene. Her belief is that the best way to truly experience a place is to slow down and take it all in, rather than rush from one sight to another. Thanks to her, we find a balance between exploring and enjoying the moment.

Our son Robert,

an active and curious boy, brings his own thoughtful energy to our adventures. He’s passionate about Taekwondo and has developed a love for creating music on his PO-33 K.O., a portable synthesizer. Like his mom, Robert prefers a slower pace, taking his time to observe and reflect on the world around him. For him, the best part of our trips is listening to our stories about the places we visit, and of course, no adventure is complete without a playground stop. He’s always finding new ways to make our travels even more fun and memorable.

Where we are

We chose to settle in Braga, a charming northern Portuguese city, for several reasons. When we moved, we were looking for a place that wasn’t too big but not too small, either—a city that wasn’t overrun by tourists but also not boring. It was important for us to be in the north, as I’m not a big fan of the intense heat you often find in the south of Portugal. Plus, I’ve always felt a connection to the northern regions of any country we’ve visited. Braga checked out all of the boxes we had set aside for ourselves, so it became our home.

Our mission

To let you know Portugal is much more than simply Lisbon, Porto, and the Algarve. Here we want to expose frequently overlooked hidden treasures, local traditions, and unique events. We want to encourage you to explore outside the box and discover since we think that active travel is the best way to really enjoy a location.

We honestly and sincerely chronicle our trips. Every location we discuss we have personally visited. We concentrate on family-friendly activities as we understand the need of keeping things interesting and safe for children.
